If you wanna your cake outlook to be red, then your cake itself has to be plain either chocolate or coffee cake with/without chocolate/coffee filling. The outlook can be either with buttercream or fondant.

If you like both chocolate and coffee together, I can recommend that you go for tiramisu or cafe noix.

Tiramisu - i guess you know how it is
Cafe Noix - aromatic coffee cake with layers of genoise cake and creme cafe, filled with walnuts and flavoured with coffee syrup. Top with cocoa powder, croquant flakes and chocolate

Its all depends on the type of cake, its icing use to cover the cake, the deco and size. Let me know if you are interested ok.
